Rules

NOTE: Rule change for 2017 season

Starting with the 2017 season, only your biggest loss will be dropped from your season point total.

Create an Entry and Pick Your Teams

Each week of the regular season you'll "draft" an NFL team that you think will "blowout" its opponent. (See what we did there?) If your drafted team wins, we'll add those points to your entry. If your drafted team loses, we'll subtract those points from your entry. And since everyone has a rough week, we'll drop your lowest weekly loss* from your entry total for the season. And oh yeah, one small rule we should mention: make your picks carefully, you can pick each NFL team only once per season per entry!

* = This is a change for 2017. In previous seasons, we dropped your lowest weekly score, regardless of whether or not you won or lost that week. Now we will only drop your biggest loss. This is intended to keep players who pick all winners for the season from being penalized.

Join or Create a League for Your Entry

Much like fire, sound waves, and bunny rabbits, your entry cannot exist in a vacuum! You need to join a league or create your own. League commissioners have powerful tools to manage league invitations, so it's easy to get your friends onboard. Public leagues expose your greatness to the world, while private leagues keep your greatness on the down-low, exposing your domination over your homies only to your homies.

What Can You Win?

Great question! Blowout Draft does not offer any prizes, just the promise of a good time playing this free-to-play game! But if you want to make this a contest for prizes and riches, you could probably talk your league mates into doing it, right? For instance, the winner of your league could take home that super-cool macaroni trophy that you glued together in your basement! You've really got to get rid of that thing.

The Sky is the Limit

Once you've created your user profile, you can create and join as many leagues as you want, submitting a different entry for each league. Some leagues will allow you to have multiple entries in that league, while others will limit entries to one per user. It's up to the commissioner of the league to decide how many entries are allowed per person.

Keep an Eye on the Clock

Your pick for each week is due by the time the early Sunday afternoon games kickoff that week (1pm Eastern Time). After that the week is locked and you will not be able to submit a pick or change your current pick. If you want to pick an earlier game, you have to submit your pick before that team's game is scheduled to kickoff.

Whoops! You Forgot to Make a Pick

If you forget to make a pick for any given week, you are in deep, DEEP trouble. Just kidding! But your entry will be penalized in that it will be assigned the same score that week as the person in your league with the lowest score in that week. If no one in your league submits picks for a given week, you will be penalized by the largest margin of victory in the NFL that week.
